Privacy Policy
We treat your personal and health information with the same care we bring to your treatment. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Last updated: March 1, 2026
Baig's Dental Surgery (“Baig,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of our patients and website visitors. We handle your information honestly and carefully, in line with applicable Pakistani law and good professional practice. This policy describes how that information is collected, used, shared, and safeguarded.
The information we collect
We only collect what we need to provide safe, effective dental care and to run our practice responsibly. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:
- Identifying details — your name, date of birth, home address, phone number, and email address.
- Health information — your dental and medical history, treatment records, X-rays and clinical images, medications, and allergies.
- Billing and payment details — the information needed to give you an estimate and take payment, such as how you choose to pay (cash, card, bank transfer, EasyPaisa or JazzCash) and, where it applies, your corporate panel or insurance details so we can help with claim paperwork.
- Communications — messages you send through our contact and appointment forms, and notes from calls or emails with our team.
- Website data — limited technical information such as your device type, browser, and pages visited, collected through cookies and similar tools (see our Cookie Policy).
How we use your information
Your information is used for clearly defined, legitimate purposes:
- To provide, plan, and coordinate your dental treatment.
- To confirm, reschedule, and remind you about appointments.
- To prepare written estimates, take payment, and — where it applies — help you with corporate panel or insurance claim paperwork.
- To respond to your questions, requests, and form submissions.
- To meet our professional and legal obligations as a dental practice in Pakistan.
- To send practice updates or oral-health information, where you have asked to receive them. You can opt out of these at any time.
Consent
We collect, use, and share your personal and health information with your consent. When you come to us for treatment, you are giving us permission to use your information to plan and provide your care. For anything beyond your direct care — such as optional reminders or oral-health messages — we ask for your clear consent first. You may change your mind and withdraw consent at any time, subject to the records we are required to keep, by contacting us using the details below.
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we never share it for advertising. We disclose information only when it is necessary and permitted, including:
- With dental specialists, laboratories, or other health-care providers involved in your care, when a referral is needed.
- With your corporate panel or insurance provider, only when you have asked us to help with a claim you have authorised.
- With trusted service providers (such as our practice-management software and secure hosting providers) who are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
- When required or permitted by law, such as a valid order from a court or a lawful request from a competent authority.
How we protect your information
We maintain physical, administrative, and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold. These include access controls so that only authorised team members can view your records, encryption for data in transit, secure backups, locked storage for any paper records, and ongoing staff training on privacy and confidentiality. While no system can be guaranteed completely secure, we work continually to keep your information safe.
How long we keep your records
We keep your dental records for as long as is needed to provide continuing care and to meet our professional and legal obligations in Pakistan — generally for several years after your last visit, and longer for patients who were children at the time of treatment. When records are no longer required, they are securely destroyed.
Your choices over your information
We want you to stay in control of your information. You can:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and how it has been used or shared.
- Access your records and request a copy, subject to limited exceptions.
- Ask us to correct information you believe is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete information we are no longer required to keep.
- Withdraw consent for optional uses, such as reminder messages.
- Raise a concern about how your information has been handled.
We will respond to your request as promptly as we reasonably can. To exercise any of these choices, please contact us using the details below.
Children’s privacy
We welcome patients of all ages. For patients who are minors, information is collected and managed with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian, in keeping with their best interests and applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practice or in the law. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review it periodically.
